Alarm Lock webinars schedule April 5 & 7

Alarm Lock has scheduled training sessions on DL Windows v5 and Basic Networx Connectivity for the first week of April. Join Andy Phelps CRL, CAI for valuable training sessions on DL Windows version 5 and Basic Networx Connectivity scheduled for April 5 and April 7.

 

Schedule

Tuesday April 5 will have 2 sessions on DL Windows version 5 at 11am and 3pm EDT. These sessions will cover the Alarm Lock Trilogy programming software and Andy will show you how to create a new account which includes lock profiles, lock users, schedules and some of the more advanced features of the Trilogy locks.

 

Thursday April 7 will have 2 sessions on Basic Networx Connectivity at 11am and 3pm EDT. These sessions will continue the DL Windows v5 training pertaining to the Networx lock system including how to add gateways, expanders and locks to the account. Some of the advanced features of the Networx system will also be covered.

Did you know that Alarm Lock has a YouTube channel? We do.

This channel is dedicated to Alarm Lock Trilogy locks and the DL Windows programming software. There are approx 40 videos that most are about 4-5 minutes long and show you how to use the Trilogy lock keypad or use the DL Windows programming software.

Topics covered range from how to change the master code on a DL2700 T2 lock to how to program a Networx lock via the DL Windows software.

There are videos showing how to install the latest version of DL Windows that includes where to find the software on the web and how to properly install it. Also there is a video on how to upgrade your software database from version 4.1.96 to 5.5.3 and how to upgrade the database from any version 5 older than 5.5.2 to the latest version of DL Windows 5.5.3.

Popular DL Windows and Networx webinars April 21-23

Due to the popularity of these informative live webinars, we have scheduled another set of sessions for April 21-23. There will be 2 sessions per day, 11 am and 3 pm Eastern Time. On Tuesday, April 21, DL Windows session 1 will cover how to create new accounts and lock profiles as well as how to add users into the database and assign them to locks. New Networx firmware for ETPDLN, PDL6100 and PDL6500

There is new firmware available for the Networx ETPDLN (exit bar trim), PDL6100 and PDL6500 on the technical webpage. Click here to download the firmware. If you are not registered for access to the sight, register by clicking on Register and fill out all the information requested. For instant approval, only check "Alarm Lock" for the Brands of interest.

This firmware, along with DL Windows 5.5.3, will allow use of the "Holiday Passage Mode Suppression" schedules. This schedule will allow you to suppress, override, all passage modes within a given time frame with only 1 scheduled event. It also allow for the "Emergency Lockdown User" option which is in the right click menu for a user in the Global User screen. This will allow you to designate whether a user can Lockdown the system and Return to Normal from the keypad.

New video on how to upgrade DL Windows 5.X.X to 5.5.3

There is a new video on how to upgrade the DL Windows software from any version 5 to the newest 5.5.3 available on the Alarm Lock technical website. You must be registered to get access to watch the video. This video shows step by step process to install the required 2012 version of Microsoft SQL Express, that we provide with the downloaded software package. You can download the latest version of DL Windows by clicking here.

Once the new version of Microsoft SQL Express is installed, John Ruperto from the Alarm Lock tech support team shows you how to convert the older 2008 Microsoft SQL Express database to the new one installed. This will allow you to restore the backup of the converted database to the newest version of DL Windows. Once this is done, your database will be updated.

DL Windows and Networx webinars set for August 6-8

There are new webinars scheduled for May 28-30. These live webinar sessions will cover the DL Windows software. Session 1 on May 28 will cover how to create an account and lock profiles as well as how to add users to the Global Users area. Session 1 will also show how to program the legacy locks with the AL-PCI2U cable and/or the DTM III module.

Session 2 will cover how to set up schedules including passage (open) mode, group and user enable and Open Window schedules. The session will also cover the Features of the locks such as Group 2 toggles passage mode.

Session 3 is on the Networx locks. This session will cover how to discover the gateways and locks. The Global Emergency Commands will be discussed and shown. These include lockdown, passage and return to normal.

Error when programming Trilogy locks from a newly created account in DL Windows

When you create a new account and want to program the locks via either the DTM III or AL-PCI2U cable, you must create a Security Password prior to programming. This is new to DL Windows versions 5.4.2 and higher.

To create a Security Password, first click on "Tools" in the header list. Then click on "Set Security Password".

Create a 6 character password. Alphanumeric only, no special characters.

Once the password is set successfully, you will be able to program the Trilogy locks. This password can not be changed once set, so keep it in a safe place.
